About Mrs. Lasser

I'm so happy to be your child's first grade teacher. Although many of you have gotten to know many things about me, I'd like to tell you a little more about myself.

I grew up in New York and spent the first twenty-three years of my life there. I went to college at Cornell University and then received my Master s Degree from New York University. I taught for four years in the Bronx before I had my first child. I have one brother who lives in New York with his family and a mom who lives in Ft. Lauderdale so those places are often my destinations during vacations.

I moved to Minnesota over thirty years ago and except for my New York accent, I consider myself a Midwesterner. I have three grown children.  My oldest son, Adam, is a child psychiatrist in Los Angeles and he has a son named Jasper who is 4 years old.  My middle son, Michael, lives in New York and is a Senior Research Analyst for a major investment bank. He is married to Jessica, a wonderful girl, who has also captured my heart. They have a daughter named Sydney who is 4  and a son named Gabriel who is 18 months old. Needless to say I am accumulating lots of frequent flyer miles. My daughter, Shari, received her MA Degree From the University of Minnesota in both Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education. She presently teaches kindergarten in the Minnetonka School District.  She and my wonderful son-in-law Adam got married five years ago and are the proud parents of Sadie, who is three years old and Joey who is 18 months. Not many grandmas can boast that they have five grandchildren four years old and younger with three of them being red-heads! Thank goodness I have two home-grown grandchildren. It is my priority to see her all the time and I baby sit as often as I can.  It' s very difficult not seeing my other grandchildren as much as I see Sadie and Joey. I am a very lucky mother, not only for all of my children' s accomplishments, but also for the loving and kind people they have grown to be. They, their spouses and my grandchildren are truly my most cherished gift in my life.
