Nightly homework should consist of twenty minutes of independent reading and ten minutes of journaling. It is also helpful to work on learning basic math facts! Please help your student know his or her addition, subtraction and multiplication facts like the back of their hand. You may do this by using flashcards 10 minutes a day or try our math links.
Other assignments during the week will consist of finishing spelling, writing, and math.
Students are asked to write for 10 minutes each day in a notebook kept at home. Writing should vary from writing lists, thank you notes, letters, plays, stories, poetry, journal entries, invitations...
Writers will be asked, on occasion, to bring their notebooks in to share with the class.
