A Letter from Principal Bartl

Dear Families,

Wow, it's hard to believe that we are in our sixth week of the school year! I love this time of the year. With the rituals and routines of school in full motion, it offers us a time to pause and reflect. How are our children doing? What are we doing to support their growth? How are we fostering a love of learning and building our students up to be responsibly independent? These are just a few of the questions on my mind now and as we move through the year. With parent/teacher conferences coming up, these are questions that are also on the mind of teachers as they prepare to talk with you about the progress of your child. Keep in mind that conferences are not only an opportunity for teachers to share with families but also for families to ask questions and share with teachers. It is through these opportunities for dialogue that we all learn about how to support our children as they grow.

A few other things coming up soon are the annual Fall Campus Clean Up Day and the "Visit Our Schools" Campaign Kick-Off. Both of these events will be held at Burroughs on Saturday, October 15, and volunteers are welcome. Family and community engagement are instrumental components of a successful school. At Burroughs, we are so appreciative of the support of our families. Burroughs is a community of true partnership, and there are many things that we would not be able to do without that support. Thank you!

Please feel free to reach out by phone, email, or in person, with any questions that may arise.
