Angst Screening and Discussion
Tuesday, April 10, 2018 8:55 AM

The Justice Page Middle School PTA and the Washburn Parent Council invite the community to join us for two special screenings of the documentary Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety to open up a dialogue among local families, community leaders, and experts. Angst is a 55-minute film that explores anxiety, its causes, its effects, and what we can do about it. It is appropriate for fifth grade and older.

Through candid interviews, the film tells the stories of children and teens who discuss their anxiety, the impact on their lives and relationships, as well as how they've found solutions and hope. The film also includes a special interview with Michael Phelps, a mental-health advocate and Olympic athlete. In addition, the documentary provides discussions with mental-health experts about the causes of anxiety, its sociological effects, and helpful resources and tools.

Showings will take place:

There will be a brief Q & A with school counselors after the film. There is no ticket charge, but a suggested donation of $5 to help defer the cost is appreciated. This film is not available on streaming services. Register on Eventbrite: https://tinyurl.com/AngstMinneapolis
