On April 18, we announced the membership of the North High Redesign Advisory Committee, which includes nine community members and five school district leaders. The selection of these dedicated members completes the creation of a strong advisory committee that will help inform and guide the work of the Institute for Students Achievement (ISA) and Minneapolis Public Schools in the process to recreate North.

Needed: An Area C parent for MPS TASKFORCE
 
The task force will examine how many days we are in school, how much time we spend each day, how time is structured within a day, and what operational changes we would need to make to support a different use of time. The task force will make final recommendations to the Superintendent this fall. We are just putting together a project plan, but it is looking like the commitment will be somewhere in this neighborhood (6 taskforce meetings between now and the end of September, subcommittee work in the early summer):
  • Taskforce Meeting I: April 28, 2011 / 3:00-5:00pm / Webster
  • Taskforce Meeting II: May 5, 2011 / 3:00-5:00pm / Webster
  • Taskforce Meeting III: Mid-May TBD / 2 hours
  • Subcommittee work of approximately 10 hours between mid-May through id-July
  • Taskforce Meeting IV: Mid-July TBD / 3 hours
  • Taskforce Meeting V: Early September TBD / 3 hours
  • Taskforce Meeting VI: Late September TBD / 2 hours
