Burroughs Helps Box Tops for Education Promote Its 20-Year Anniversary

Promo video features Dave Coulier with Burroughs students. If your kids were all abuzz about a commercial being filmed at Burroughs this month, it's because Burroughs was chosen by General Mills as the location for a video promoting the Box Tops for Education program, which has now been around for two decades. The program has raised more than $719 million for schools across the nation since 1996.

The production team worked with Mr. Carrick in the music room and with Ms. Frederickson in the media center. Dave Coulier, of Full House fame, temporarily took over music and media classes, surprising kids with missing musical instruments and empty bookshelves. The idea behind the promo was that without donations from programs like BoxTops, there are some schools that might not have sufficient funds for important things to enhance student education, like instruments and books.

While production had been in the works for several weeks, the promo and Coulier's appearance were kept under the radar to make sure students had genuine reactions. Students had fun interacting with Coulier and responding to his ideas and improvisations.

Stay tuned for info on how to watch the finished promo video!
