Congratulations to All the Prize Winners
Tuesday, March 26, 2013 7:25 AM

Because Burroughs achieved 100 percent student participation for the Read-a-thon, every classroom at Burroughs will get to pig-out on ice cream this year. Grades K-2 will have their parties on Tuesday, March 26. Grades 3-5 will have their parties on Wednesday March 27. Students who landed in the top 10 percent of their class for minutes read or money raised will join Mr. Cadotte for a special party on Thursday, March 28. Please see the grades K-2 and 3-5 Google docs for specific times and volunteer opportunities.

Congratulations to Mrs. Grein’s second-grade class who took home the “Most Minutes Read” trophy for grades K-2 and Ms. Walvatne’s fifth-grade class who took home the trophy for grades 3-5. Additional kudos go to Mr. Wold’s morning kindergarten class, Mrs. Lasser’s first-grade class, Mr. Wilkinson’s third-grade class, and Mr. Pederson’s fourth-grade class for most minutes read per grade. These classes celebrated on Friday with a pizza party.

The students in the top 10 percent for reading and fundraising were entered into a drawing for three Kindles. Julia Z.-B., Eleanor V., and Annie K. were the winners. Great job to all our participants. Burroughs students have proven to be “Some Terrific, Radiant, Humble Readers!”
