Homework is very important! Kindergarten is when students are beginning to understand and develop school routines, which includes HOMEWORK! We highly suggest reading with your child for at least 20 minutes every night. More is even better :)

In addition to reading at home, we will send home homework packets every Monday with your child. These packets will directly reflect what we are learning in class and should be used as a practice and discussion guide to help your child get a better grasp of concepts we are covering in class! This is a great way for family members to be involved and connect learning in the classroom to home. If you would like a paper copy, please email me at anna.kovalchuk@mpls.k12.mn.us. We will also be sending home important announcements with your child each week.

Students will also be taking home "Just Right Book Bags" that include a book at their reading level to bring home and read! Once your child brings their book back to school they can switch it out for another book!

If you have any questions about homework and reading material, please feel free to contact me!
