Join the Conversation on Equity
Tuesday, March 20, 2018 8:20 AM

Are our children prepared for the diverse world that awaits them when they leave Burroughs? How can we ensure our school is inclusive and supports all kids equitably? Join other Burroughs parents and teachers on Thursday, April 19, from 6 to 8 pm for a discussion and learning session about how to talk to our kids about race at home and in school. This is the second part of a two-part series, but you did not have to attend the first session to contribute to and learn from this session. We will use the book  A Good Time for the Truth to anchor our discussions, and Sun Yung Shin, the editor of the book, will facilitate our conversation. We expect a lively and engaging discussion, and our goal is to provide action-oriented resources to parents and teachers as we look to support the kids at Burroughs. Thanks to the PTA for sponsoring this event and to our school administration for supporting these important conversations. Childcare (ages 3 and older) and refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP to either the Burroughs Facebook event page or to burroughsracialequity@gmail.com. RSVPs appreciated but not required. And help spread the word!
