Kindergarten Quilt Project Gives Back
Monday, April 15, 2013 9:35 AM

The Burroughs kindergarteners have been reading a book called The Quiltmaker's Gift about a woman who makes quilts and will only give them to poor and homeless people. The book focuses on the idea that it is better to give than to receive. To put some action to this idea, the kindergarten classes have been collecting donations of quilts, blankets, sheets, and towels for local homeless shelters. Groups of kindergarten families will be dropping off the items and touring two local shelters on April 24 and 26 after school. Kindergarten families are welcome to continue donating new or gently used items this week. Also, if they would like to drop off the items at the shelter, please contact Mrs. Risdall. We are proud of our generous students and their excitement to give back to our community!
