May Art Update
Tuesday, May 15, 2018 9:45 AM

The year is coming to a close! My student teacher, Ms. G., is finishing up her final weeks with me this month.

Kindergarten, First, and Second Grades: All three grades are looking at different ways to use tactile and visual texture in their projects.  The 2nd graders also looked at symmetry and positive and negative space as part of their investigations.

Third Grade: Third graders just wrapped up making and glazing their advanced coil pots which looked not only at form in art but also visual and tactile texture.

Fourth Grade: We are working on functional clay slab containers which will be used as planters.  They worked on visual and tactile texture in creating their designs on them.

Fifth Grade: We have been investigating what abstract art is and how we could create an abstract painting.  They then looked at monochromatic color schemes (tints and shades) to paint their projects. We are currently working on extending this project and using the paintings as a background for a text based poster.
