Note From the Principal

Dear Families,

We had a busy week last week with MAP testing, field trips, rehearsals for the read-a-thon opening ceremony skit, the spelling bee, and the wax museum.

As we begin to wrap up the first semester of the school year, we have another opportunity to reset and reflect on our progress and goals for this school year. In light of this, I asked our staff to reflect on this question:  What do you hope for our students? Some of their responses included...self-confidence, empathy, understanding, patience, peace, happiness, love of learning, acceptance, kindness, respectful interactions, motivation, focus, and mindfulness. Know that we work each day to make these hopes a reality.

At Burroughs we strive to foster an inclusive and safe school environment for all. This evening we will host our first community conversation around school climate. I look forward to engaging in this conversation with you and gathering your input and insight regarding this topic. We truly want to make our Burroughs community one that is inclusive of all and exemplifies the mission for which we exist.

Please make sure to check out the announcements and important dates below. As always, feel free to reach out with any questions that may arise.

Sincerely,

Ana Bartl
Principal
