Dear Families,

Last week culminated with the All School Picnic hosted by our PTA.  The turn out was amazing and the MPS Food Truck and the ice cream trucks were a hit!  Thank you to all the families and staff who came to the picnic despite the cool temperatures.   The All School Picnic has become one of my favorite events of the year.  It is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and connect for the sole purpose of celebrating the school year and enjoying one another's company.

This week brings our 4th and 5th grade choir concerts and the kick off of our 4th annual 'Change for a Change' campaign organized by some of our 5th graders.  This has become a beautiful tradition of giving for Burroughs.  If you have any spare change you are willing to donate, classrooms will be collecting all week.  Our week will culminate with our annual Spring Campus Clean-Up on Friday from 9:30 am-12:30 pm.  This too has become a tradition for us and a fantastic opportunity for students to get outside and learn the importance of taking care of our environment.

Finally this week, I'd like to share with you some staffing updates.  Many of you have heard that last week was James Craig's, one of our engineers, last week at Burroughs.  In addition, Will Watson, one of our kindergarten teachers, Melissa Favero, one of our 4th grade teachers,Teri Emery, our Instructional Specialist/Professional Development Lead, Linda Fredrickson, our Media Specialist, and Richard Carrick, our Music Teacher, have accepted new opportunities outside of Burroughs.  We are sad to say goodbye to these staff members as they have contributed in such positive ways to our community yet we wish them well in their new endeavors.

Please make sure to check out the announcements and important dates below.  As always, feel free to reach out to me with any questions that may arise.
Sincerely,
Ana Bartl
