Note from the Principal

Dear Families,
With winter break upon us, the school year seems to be flying by! Last week was a wonderful week of fun and learning. We had hundreds of families in the building taking part in the Family Fun Run, Art Adventure Field Trips to MIA, and our Burroughs Families for Equity and Justice event. I love seeing the joy and excitement on the faces of our students when they know their parents, grandparents, or other family members will be coming to school.

For those who joined their children in PE last week, thank you for helping to reinforce the importance of physical activity. For those who helped chaperone field trips to the MIA, thank you for helping to keep our kids safe and supporting the amazing opportunity our students have to engage in Art Adventure. And for those who spent Tuesday evening with us at the FEJ event, "How to Talk to Your Kids about Race," thank you for opening yourselves up as learners and for your willingness to engage in conversations around this important and relevant topic.

This week is another eventful week as we wrap things up before winter break. Please be sure to check out the important announcements and dates of upcoming events below. January is full of fun learning experiences and events for our students and families.

As always, feel free to reach out with any questions that may arise. We look forward to seeing everyone back at school in January. Until then, I wish you all a peaceful, safe holiday and a happy New Year!

Sincerely,
Ana Bartl
Principal
