Read-a-Thon Update
Tuesday, February 16, 2016 9:00 AM

The Read-a-Thon is in full swing!

Leap year has provided an extra day for the Read-a-Thon; it is, however, half complete. Continue to ask for pledges and encourage reading. A guide to help children set a reading goal per day is found in your packet.

Teachers send home a total of minutes read in the classroom at the end of the Read-a-Thon for you to include on your child's tally sheet. Tally sheets and funds should be given to homeroom teachers by March 4. Classrooms in which all children hand in a tally sheet with a parent's signature receive a classroom ice cream party.

Mark your calendar now for the Read-a-Thon closing ceremony on March 18. Historically, Principal Cadotte meets the principal's challenge during the ceremony. This year's challenge is to wrestle an alligator if the students read a collective 2 million minutes.
