Review Traffic Safety with Your Children
Wednesday, November 01, 2017 1:30 AM

Please help the entire Burroughs community stay safe while commuting to and from school by allowing adequate time, using crosswalks, putting down your phones, and paying extra attention to your surroundings.

Students who walk to school should cross with crossing guards when possible. Please remind students that before they proceed into the intersection, they should look for cars that are trying to rush through a changing light or turning onto 50th Street. Teach your children to make eye contact with the driver before crossing the street. Teach kids at an early age to look left, right, and left again before crossing the street. Then remind them to continue looking until they are safely across. Click here for more safety tips.

Join the Traffic & Safety Committee at our next meeting: Monday, November 13 at 6:30 pm at the Lynnhurst Rec Center. We will be discussing the recent changes to the 50th Street intersections at Minnehaha Parkway and James Avenue. Email Jennie Hartman with interest or questions.
