The Read-A-Thon was Successful!
Tuesday, March 22, 2016 9:20 AM

The theme might have been a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day... But Burroughs students surpassed the 2 million minutes needed to reach their goal, and together this community raised $96,360 for the annual PTA fund!

Every Burroughs student turned in a tally form. Therefore, every class will have an ice cream party. In addition, each grade's top classroom will have pizza parties over lunch:

  • Kindergarten: Cherney
  • 1st grade: Lasser
  • 2nd grade: Janssen
  • 3rd grade: Spooner
  • 4th grade: Pederson
  • 5th grade: Hulsey

Even Mr. Cadotte, who was surprised to find himself face-to-face with a real, live, bona fide alligator, ended the Read-a-Thon on a happy and safe note. Rumor has it he spent some time reading the The Complete Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook.

Congratulations Burroughs community and thank you to all volunteers and sponsors.
