Volunteer for 2018-2019 Art Adventure Now!
Tuesday, May 29, 2018 9:35 AM

Get a jump on the 2018-19 school year. If you are looking for a fun way to get involved in your child's class or other classes, Art Adventure may be your answer.

Art Adventure, a program sponsored by the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia), introduces students to works of art from a variety of cultures. Volunteering in the program includes visiting Mia to learn about the art from a trained professional and then discussing the pieces using reproductions and other props with our students in their art classes.

The time commitment is:
  • September/October - "Picture Person" Training at Mia (one day or evening; 3 hour commitment)
  • November - Present to your child's art class (2 times; you may share this responsibility if more than one parent volunteers in your class)
  • December -  Tour Mia to see the art in person (optional)
Questions? Ready to commit to being a "Picture Person" next year? Email Burroughs Art Adventure.

Note: We are currently working with our Kindergarten teachers to find a schedule that will work for them to also participate in Art Adventure next year.
