Volunteering at Burroughs

We are very thankful and fortunate to have so many wonderful and energetic volunteers, and there is always a need for more. We would like to encourage your involvement in the many volunteer opportunities at Burroughs.

Tutors and volunteers are coordinated by our Parent Volunteer Coordinator (TBD). There are small and large, daytime and nighttime, weekday and weekend needs. Many volunteers are needed to help in the lunchroom, tutor students, work in the media center, and help teachers with special projects.
There are three areas of volunteering at Burroughs:
  1. Classroom tutoring: requires completing our volunteer form and reading the MPS Volunteer policies and procedures.
  2. Overnight: requires the form, reading the MPS Volunteer policies and procedures, and background check ($5.00 processing fee must be included).
  3. If you accompany a child on a field trip or are helping out in your child's classroom for a special event or project you do not need to complete the form or read the MPS Volunteer policies and procedures. Please make arrangements with your child's teacher.
