About Burroughs

Burroughs is a K-5 community school south of Lake Harriet. Our goal is to accelerate academic and emotional growth for all of our students while also helping our students understand and value the diversity of our city.

Burroughs Community School promotes academic excellence and a true sense of community.

Nestled on the banks of Minnehaha Creek, Burroughs Community serves the Lynnhurst and Tangletown neighborhoods of Southwest Minneapolis. Burroughs students receive a first-class education that balances academic rigor with nurturing, caring staff and meaningful student engagement. The surrounding natural setting enriches students' instruction in science, art, and physical fitness. School staff recognize families' and the neighboring community's integral role in overall student success and welcome their involvement.
