Return to In-person Learning - Your Response Needed
MPS continues to plan for a return to in-person learning per Governor Walz's update to his Safe Learning plan.
In-person learning for Grades PreK- 5 will be phased in over the month of February:
As part of that planning, we need to know if your child will return to in-person learning or remain in distance learning for the remainder of the school year. Please complete the 2020-21 In-Person/Distance Learning Registration Form for each of your students in grades PreK-5 by Jan. 22, indicating your family's choice. If you need assistance in completing this form, please contact your school or our district communication center at 612-668-0000.
Tuesday Time with the Principal
Each Tuesday Mrs. Bartl is hosting an optional drop-in time for students from 12:30-1:00. This is an informal opportunity for students to connect with one another and Mrs. Bartl. We will do a variety of things during this time from playing games, to reading stories, to just chatting. I look forward to the opportunity to spend more time with students. Students can participate through google meets using the nickname: mrsbartl.
Media Center Book Checkout has Changed!
Library book pickup has changed! Library books will now be placed in the foyer before 1 p.m. on Thursdays and can be picked up any time between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Please see the library website for more detailed information, including how to place holds and to see what books your child has already checked out. There will be delays in checking books in, as they are quarantined when they first come in. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Hyrkas.

School request season is here! Please see the information provided here. There is an option for families who will be outside of the Burroughs attendance area due to the CDD to request Burroughs. If you are in the Burroughs attendance area, and your student will be attending Burroughs for the 2021-22 school year, you do not need to do anything. Please note, all school requests are due by Sunday, February 7.
Technology Resources and Support
If you have questions or need support with student devices please visit the technology resources and support page.
During Distance Learning the top priority is that students are engaged in learning every day. As such, the definition of an absence is when a student, or parent/guardian for elementary students, does not have contact with the teacher on an instructional day. If your child will be absent, please notify the school by calling the attendance line at 612-668-3288.
The health and safety of our students and staff is a priority. Please review attendance guidelines from the Minnesota Department of Health relating to COVID-19. You may also review additional resources and a helpful decision tree.?
School Spirit Fridays
Let's celebrate our Burroughs spirit every Friday. Encourage your children to wear any "Burroughs Wear" or our colors (navy, blue, and yellow) each Friday.
