Books Needed for Read-a-thon and Media Center

Read-a-thon Book Swap: This year, our February Read-a-thon will include a book swap, just one of many fantastic new events! Please have your kids take some time over winter break to sort out books they have outgrown, and either drop them in the marked bin at 4908 Harriet Ave (Lara Tickle's house) or in the collection box in the atrium. Ask friends, relatives, and neighbors to contribute K-5 appropriate books in good condition: picture books, early readers, chapter books, and middle-grade novels. The Daisy, Brownie, and Junior Girl Scouts at Burroughs will sort, set up, and run the swap. We need your help to collect enough books so that every Burroughs student can bring home a book during the Read-a-thon!
Media Center Donations: The Burroughs Families for Equity and Justice Book/Literature Group has a Book Tree in the Atrium. On each tag is a book we would love to put in the Burroughs Media Center collection. During this holiday season, please consider choosing one to purchase and donate to our school. The wish list is long, and the Book Tree tags are the tip of the iceberg when it comes to books that help make our Media Center even better.
