Illness: As the cold and flu season approaches, you may be asking, "When should my child stay home?"
The following are general guidelines to help with this decision. Keep your child home if:
  • He or she has had a fever of 100 degrees or higher in the past 24 hours.
  • He or she has vomited two or more times in the past 24 hours.
  • He or she has diarrhea, an increased number of stools compared to normal, stools that are loose, or needs to use the bathroom frequently.
  • He or she has a rash for which the cause is unknown. Check with your doctor before sending to school.
  • He or she has an illness (severe wheeze, severe cough, etc.) that prevents him or her from participating in school activities.
Please call the attendance line at (612) 668-3288 if your child will be absent, or if you have any questions about whether to send your child to school.
