Congratulations, Melody! We would like to take the opportunity to wish our fabulous secretary, Melody West, the best of luck as she embarks on a new career opportunity. Her last day at Burroughs will be Friday, January 12. Melody has been a part of the Burroughs school community for the past 22 years. Melody's dedication to the students, staff, and families has been an inspiration to us all. Congratulations Melody! 

FAST Assessments: 
This month, students will be taking the Winter FAST assessments, which show their progress in reading and math. To see when your student will be taking the FAST assessments click on the Winter FAST Testing Calendar on the right side of the home page.

Weather: Please remember to make sure your children are coming to school with appropriate attire to be outside for recess and PE. Weather permitting, students will be going outside for recess every day.

Illness:  Questioning whether or not to send your child to school for health reasons? The following are reasons to keep your children home from school due to illness.
  • He or she has had a fever of 100 degrees or higher in the past 24 hours.
  • He or she has vomited two or more times in the past 24 hours.
  • He or she has diarrhea, an increased number of stools compared to normal, stools that are loose, or needs to use the bathroom frequently.
  • He or she has a rash for which the cause is unknown. Check with your doctor before sending to school.
  • He or she has an illness (severe wheeze, severe cough, etc.) that prevents him or her from participating in school activities.
