New Vision and Mission Statement
After a nearly two-year process, I am thrilled to announce that the final version of our new Vision and Mission Statement was approved by Site Council on January 21. Thank you to all who participated for the time, energy and collaboration you provided in this process. I believe the end product captures the essence of the input we gathered from families, students, and alumni. More to come this spring on next steps for how we will bring this vision and mission to life.
Winter Conferences
Winter conferences are coming up on Tuesday, February 18 from 8:00 am-6:00 pm and Wednesday, February 19 from 4:00-6:00 pm.  Sign up is available via this link until 2pm on Friday, February 14.  Please make every effort to schedule a conference during these designated dates and times.  Out of respect for our teacher's time, teachers are not required to schedule conferences outside of these designated days and times.

Comprehensive District Design
For information, please refer to this website. There is also a survey I would encourage families to take and listening sessions to attend in the coming weeks.
Burroughs Art Show
In our art classes, Burroughs Artists explore different materials, techniques, and ideas to create original work. Visit the Washburn Public Library (5244 Lyndale Ave S) to see a sampling of these masterpieces! Over 100 artworks made by Burroughs students will be on display for the month of February. Come one, come all!

Drop-off Circle
The drop-off circle is for families of students in K-2 grades only, safe drop-off locations for students in grades 3-5 can be found here. Do not park in the drop-off circle or in the designated handicap drop-off/pick-up area at any time. Stay off your phone at all times while driving. Please drive slowly, pull all the way up, adults stay in the car, and students exit the car from the passenger side only. Finally, only right-hand turns are allowed during arrival and dismissal times.
Safety is our number one priority at arrival and dismissal. In order to ensure safety for all of our students it is important that we work together to follow these guidelines. For complete information about drop-off and pick-up policies and procedures, click here.
Recess Attire and Weather Procedures
Students are provided a 30-minute recess or activity period daily. Most days, students are sent outside. If the wind-chill temperature is below zero, or if the weather is inclement, students may remain indoors for this recess. Dress your child appropriately to be outdoors everyday (hat, gloves, coat, snow pants, etc.).
