Schoolwork for March 17-April 5

Many teachers have been in communication with their families regarding activities that students can be doing at home to continue their learning during the school closure. There is, however, no expectation that teachers provide assignments for students. Rather, teachers are using this time to plan for distance learning instruction that will take place should the current school closure go beyond April 6.

Meal and Learning Resource Pick Up Sites

MPS will provide meals to ANY child at 20 locations around the city while schools are closed due to COVD-19.  If you need food for your children during the day and/or learning materials, click here for more information. The distribution sites will be open each day of the closure between the hours of 10 am - 2 pm.

Distance Learning

MPS has a variety of distance learning opportunities for students. In addition to the online resources linked here, MPS will be sharing non-tech related distance learning resources this week. In the meantime, Enrichment Packets can be picked up at food distribution sites.

Online Learning Resources

There are so many wonderful resources out there. We're sure you've heard or seen many of them.  Last week Principal Bartl shared the online learning resource Bedtime Math. This week consider checking out Lunch Doodles with Mo Willemsan art-based resource by beloved children's author, Mo Willems. Each weekday at 1pm EST, Mo invites children into his studio where learners worldwide draw, doodle and explore new ways of writing.

Coronavirus Disease 2019

Please visit  this website to learn about how all Minneapolis Public Schools are addressing this illness. As a school, we are required to comply with the guidelines set forth by district health services, the Minnesota Department of Health, and the CDC. Minneapolis Public Schools are closed Tuesday, March 17 through Sunday, April 5 and will resume on Monday, April 6.

Comprehensive District Design

Thank you to all who joined us on March 11 for the Burroughs CDD Town Hall and to all who helped to coordinate the event. Due to the current school closure, the CDD timeline has been adjusted. Please see the most recent statement from MPS for details of the updated timeline.
