Summer Learning: Read, play, and explore! Summer is a great time to get lost in a good book. Encourage your children to stay in the routine of reading each day, whether curled up on the couch on a rainy day or under a shade tree at the park on warm sunny day. There are also endless opportunities to continue science, math, social studies, and social skills by learning through exploration and play. For example, if out for a walk, talk about the patterns you notice in nature with your children. Connecting learning to enjoyable activities at home in in the real world goes a long way in supporting the development of a child's curiosity and love of learning.
