Sarah Collins, English as a Second Language Teacher

Ms. Collins has taught ELL for over 23 years in Minneapolis Public Schools and this is her sixth year at Burroughs. She always wanted to be an elementary teacher and went through the Post Baccalaureate program at the University of Minnesota. She has a BA in American Studies and an Elementary Ed. license K-6. After graduating, Ms. Collins was a substitute teacher in MPS. Through working a long call position in ESL, she discovered how much she loved it and decided to attend Hamline University to get her ESL licensure. She lives in south Minneapolis with her husband and 13-year old son. She loves to walk and bike around the lakes, read (especially memoirs), and play pinball.
