Note from the Principal
Tuesday, January 14, 2020 10:25 AM

Dear Families,

We had a busy and exciting first week back to school with MIA fieldtrips, auditions for the Read-a-Thon skit, cross country skiing and snowshoeing in P.E. and FAST Testing.

As we begin to wrap up the first semester of the school year, we have another opportunity to reset and reflect on our progress and goals for this school year. In many of our classrooms, students were engaged last week in setting goals or making resolutions for the New Year. These habits of goal setting and self-reflection are important life skills. They support our students' development into becoming responsibly independent human beings who will experience social and academic success. At home, you can teach and help to reinforce these skills through conversations and modeling.

The New Year also reminds us that it is time to start thinking ahead to next school year.  In the coming weeks we will learn more about the Comprehensive District Design as well as our budget allocations for the 2020-21 school year.  As I receive information, I will be sure to inform our community how these things will impact us here at Burroughs.

I look forward to seeing many of you throughout the month ahead.  As always, feel free to reach out with any questions that may arise.

Sincerely,

Ana Bartl
