Note from the Principal
Tuesday, March 24, 2020 12:45 PM

Dear Families,

I hope this note finds your families healthy and making the most of each day under the current circumstances. I've heard from several parents that they have received great things from their teachers in preparation for distance learning. I've said it a few times in the last week and I'll say it again -- Burroughs teachers have been working incredibly hard to learn new things and discover new resources to ensure that we all stay connected and that learning continues. Our teachers are truly second to none!

As we continue to navigate this new normal, many of us are juggling childcare, homeschooling, and keeping up with our own jobs. Creating a daily schedule for children and including them in the process is a strategy that provides a structure to support children in transitioning from learning at school to learning at home. Children can use the schedule to keep track of their daily accomplishments and set goals for each day or for each week. This strategy can also support adults as we try to maintain a healthy balance and keep up with the different demands that are our currently reality. If we go to distance learning beginning April 6, teachers will share information to help organize and schedule each day during the week. In the meantime, we will continue to share resources for how we can all work together to make the best of this situation.

Thank you for all the support and encouragement you have provided our teachers and one another! I wish you all good health in the days ahead and look forward to seeing you and your children again in April.

Sincerely,

Ana Bartl
