Dear Families,
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year. We are off to a great start! It was wonderful to welcome students and families to the new school year yesterday, and we look forward to welcoming our kindergartners tomorrow!
The transition into a new school year is both exciting and challenging as we all are getting back into the routine of school. Our goal these first few weeks of school is to build relationships, learn important rituals and routines that will support social and academic learning, and, of course, have fun! We hope that your children are coming home smiling and wanting to share about their days at school.
With this goal in mind, which is in alignment with our district's priorities of equity and social-emotional learning, our staff is committed to fostering a sense joy and confidence in our students. Providing our students with explicit opportunities to experience the joy of learning throughout their day will result in increased student engagement, an increased sense of competence and confidence, as well as improved academic and social outcomes for our students.
We are excited about the school year ahead and look forward to getting to know all of our students and families as we work to build a community that supports the success of all learners.
