Note from the Principal
Tuesday, March 12, 2019 10:20 AM

Dear Families,

We've made it through two five-day weeks in a row!  I hope everyone is shoveled out from the weekend storm and prepared for another potential winter storm this week!

Read-a-Thon pledges are in, minutes have been counted, and the 5th graders are back at rehearsal for the upcoming closing ceremony!  Will Mrs. Bartl get glittered and have to dress like a bat for a day? If it means that our students were engaged in lots of reading during the month of February, then I sure hope so!  Please join us on Wednesday, March 20 at 9:30 am to see if our students met their reading goal of 2,000,000 minutes.

This evening Burroughs Families for Equity and Justice will be hosting the second "Let's Talk about Race" event of this school year.  The last event was well attended and sparked some very relevant and meaningful conversations among families.  I hope that tonight is an extension of that.  I look forward to continuing these important conversations about bias, race, and how we talk about race with our children. Thank you to the PTA and the Burroughs Families for Equity and Justice for sponsoring, coordinating, and supporting this event!

Please make sure to check out the announcements and important dates below.  As always, feel free to reach out to me with any questions that may arise.

Sincerely,
Ana Bartl
Principal
