Dear Families,
Welcome to the 2019-20 School Year!  I hope everyone had an enjoyable and safe Labor Day weekend!  We are off to a great start as we welcomed students and families to the new school year today and we look forward to welcoming our Kindergarteners on Thursday!
Our teachers and staff have been working hard over the past two weeks not only preparing their classrooms but also engaging in important professional learning.  We are ready to "put the stars in reach for our students."
The transition into a new school year is both exciting and challenging as we all are getting back into the routine of school.  Our goal in these first few weeks of school is to build relationships, learn important rituals and routines that will support social and academic learning, and of course have fun!! We hope that your children come home today and every day with smiling faces and wanting to share about their days at schools.
With this goal in mind and in alignment with our district priorities of equity, social emotional learning, balanced literacy, and multi-tiered systems of support, our staff is committed to fostering a sense of joy and confidence in our students.  Providing our students with explicit opportunities to experience the joy of learning throughout their day will result in increased student engagement, and an increased sense of competence and confidence as well as improved social and academic outcomes for our students.
We are excited about the school year ahead and look forward to getting to know all of our students and families as we work to build a community that supports the success of each and every one of our students.
Please feel free to reach out by phone, email, or in person, with any questions that may arise.  I look forward to seeing many of you over the next couple of weeks!
