Note from the Principal
Tuesday, September 10, 2019 10:25 AM

Dear Families,

With the first week of school under our belts, we are all beginning to settle back into the routines of the school year. It has been such a positive and smooth start to the year! Thank you for all that you, as parents and caregivers, have done to prepare your children for the transition back to school. Also, a huge thank you to all of the volunteers who have supported us throughout this week! The success of our first week has truly been a team effort.

Throughout September, your children will continue settling into their learning routines.  Your support at home is crucial to your child's success at school. Please ask your children to tell you about what they are learning at school each day. We encourage you to build reading into your nightly routines, whether children are reading independently, you are reading to them, or you are listening to them read. Such routines will support our children in developing academic skills as well as encourage a love of learning.

Our annual curriculum nights kick off this week. Please see the exact dates and time above. We hope to see many of you there as these nights are a great opportunity to spend time with teachers and hear details regarding the curriculum your children will be engaged in throughout the year. Childcare will be provided for children ages 3+.

Additionally, our first PTA meeting of the school year is coming up on Tuesday, September 24 at 6:30 p.m. Attending PTA meetings is a great way to get involved at Burroughs and to learn more about how the PTA supports our school. I encourage all families, especially new families, to attend. We have many fun PTA sponsored events coming up this fall and throughout the school year. This is a great way to stay informed about what is going on in the Burroughs community, get involved, as well as connect with others. We are grateful for all that our PTA does for our students and staff!

Please feel free to reach out by phone, email, or in person, with any questions that may arise.

Sincerely,

Ana Bartl
