Note from the Principal
Tuesday, October 1, 2019 10:50 AM

Dear Families,

Welcome to October! Our final week of September was a full week with our first Site Council and PTA meetings of the year, kindergarteners going to the apple orchard, the Washburn High School band stopping by on Thursday afternoon to perform a couple of songs during recess as a part of their Homecoming festivities, and 2nd grade "gone fishing" in PE. October will prove to be just as busy and fun-filled as we look forward to events such as; the Scholastic Book Fair and Flu Shot Clinic, parent/teacher conferences and our annual Fall campus clean-up day.

It was great to see so many of you at the PTA meeting on Tuesday evening. Family and community engagement are instrumental components of a successful school. At Burroughs we are so appreciative of the support of our families. Burroughs is a community of true partnership and there are many things that we would not be able to do without that support. Thank you!

Conferences are coming up very soon. This is an important opportunity for families to have individual conversations with teachers and learn about the progress of their child. We ask that you make every effort to attend conferences on the days that are scheduled. Information about how to sign up for conferences will be communicated towards the end of this week or early next week. If you have any trouble signing up please contact your child's teacher for assistance.

Please feel free to reach out by phone, email, or in person, with any questions that may arise.

Sincerely,

Ana Bartl
