Dear Families,
Despite the wet and cool weather, we had a fun and busy week last week!  Our 3rd graders braved the elements to engage in Pedal, Paddle, Fish week and we kicked off the Book Fair on Thursday.  It was wonderful to see so many families throughout the week supporting Pedal, Paddle, Fish and at the Book Fair and Flu Shot Clinic on Saturday.  I love how our community comes together so enthusiastically around events like these.  Thank you!  And thank you to the Book Fair committee for making this year's fair another big success!
I love this time of the school year.  With the rituals and routines of school in full motion, it offers us a time to pause and reflect.  How are our children doing?  What are we doing to support their growth?  How are we fostering joy, a love of learning, and building our students up to be responsibly independent? These are just a few of the questions on my mind now and as we move through the year.
With conferences coming up next week, these are questions that are also on the minds of teachers as they prepare to talk with you about the progress of your child(ren).  Keep in mind, that conferences are not only an opportunity for teachers to share with families but also for families to ask questions and share with teachers.  It is through these opportunities for dialogue that we all learn about how to support our children as they grow academically and socially.
Families will be receiving an invitation to schedule a conference this week.  We ask that you make every effort to attend conferences on the days that are scheduled.  Trying to schedule a conference outside of these times is very challenging for teachers as their teaching days are very full. If you have any trouble scheduling a conference please reach out to the teacher or the office and we will be happy to assist you.
Please feel free to reach out by phone, email, or in person, with any questions that may arise.
