Raising Kids in a Racialized World Workshops
Tuesday, January 7, 2020 9:45 AM

Parents, teachers, and staff: Please join us on Monday, January 27, from 6 - 8pm in the Burroughs gym for the first of three workshops on Raising Kids in a Racialized World. Burroughs Families for Equity and Justice will bring back Macarre Traynham to lead the workshops, building off of the popular TED Talk "The Danger of a Single Story," by novelist Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie.
We will focus on moving beyond the single story about race in America, and specifically in education. Macarre will emphasize practical ways for parents, teachers, and staff to engage with our children on these critical issues. Light refreshments will be served and childcare is provided for ages three and up. Please contact Jess Khan with any questions about this event or about the Families for Equity and Justice committee.
