School Supply Donations
Tuesday, September 24, 2019 8:40 AM

Last spring a couple of 5th graders had the idea to collect gently used school supplies to give them a second life. The donations filled two SUV's!  Over the summer they sorted the supplies, sharpened thousands of pencils, tested hundreds of markers, and tore pages out of barely used notebooks. The leftover supplies were made into 60 nearly complete sets (10 for each grade) of school supplies and given to Ms. A for distribution. The remaining supplies were donated to Folwell Performing Arts Magnet where 85% of the kids receive free and reduced lunches. The Folwell social worker was very appreciative of the donation.  Watch for details in the spring on how you can help with this program next year!
