My Teaching Philosophy

Teaching is my passion. I have always known that I wanted to be a teacher. Working with students has been a rewarding and incredible experience for me. I believe that I am very fortunate to be so passionate and excited about my career. My passion, love of learning, and excitement for education is what truly drives my philosophy of learning and beliefs about education.

As a teacher, I believe that it is vital for me to continue my education so that I can be the best teacher I can be for my students. Education and the world in general are ever changing and it is my duty to stay informed and educated. I have a strong connection to the Progressivism Approach to teaching along with a more traditional style. I believe that it is important to teach the child as a whole- including academics, social, and emotional growth and development. School, to me, is more than just academic work, especially in Kindergarten. Modeling a passion and love for learning is leading by example, which is what I strive for on a daily basis. This is incredibly important when teaching Kindergarten as well. I want to show my students the excitement, curiosity, and passion that learning involves and can inspire. I want them to have an amazing learning experience and to start positive habits that will reflect success and growth throughout their education.

I believe that I should constantly work towards reaching every child’s needs in my classroom. Learning comes in many different styles, shapes, and sizes. Students need to feel important and cared for in order to fully learn to the best of their ability. I am always looking for new and interesting ways to connect to each child so that they are comfortable and happy in the classroom. Learning can only occur when a child is truly ready and the teacher is working with them on an individual level and connecting to their needs and interests.

I am so passionate about teaching and cannot wait to be a part of your child’s first year in school. As their teacher I will do my best to help instill a love of learning, an excitement to be challenged, and a curiosity to explore the world around them. I look forward to watching your child learn and grow this year! It ‘s going to be an incredible journey.
