Have you been wondering how to get involved and have a role in Burroughs Families for Equity and Justice's mission and events? We have six teams made up of parents just like you, and we want as many people involved as are interested. There are many ways to get involved; sign up today!

Classroom Champions: Organize and support Classroom Champions for each grade level to ensure there are no-cost ways for parents to connect and students to deepen relationships outside of school.

Book Tree/Literature: Ensure diverse books are a part of all classrooms and the school library through efforts such as the Book Tree, and create lists of age-appropriate diverse books to be used by teachers in the classroom.

Community Service: Create opportunities for community service projects that involve students from across all grade levels.

Pipeline Schools: Connect to other pipeline schools such as Lyndale Elementary and Green Central, and collaborate with Justice Page Middle School and Washburn High School.

Events: Raise awareness around issues of equity and inclusion, including hosting events, trainings, and discussions that focus on how to talk to our kids about race and how to plan for diversity in the classroom.

Communication: Work toward strong communication policies that ensure all families feel aware of and included in school activities, including translating all materials into relevant languages.

Please contact the organization with questions, or to sign up for any team.
